Confederate Regiments & Batteries

Florida contributed more than 15,000 men to the Confederate war effort. While this is a small number overall, because of Florida’s small population it was the largest percentage of available men of military age from any state of the Confederacy. Of these men about one third died in action or of disease. Many others were wounded and disabled.
